Own it!

Someone recently said to me, very sternly I may add, as I was expressing feelings of guilt over a choice I made 9 years ago, “JUST OWN IT!”. She told me to own the fact that I not only did what was best for me, but I did what I had to do in order to save myself ~ end of story.  And just like that the guilt was gone.

I don’t know why it took so many years, but the moment I heard those words something inside of me changed.  I became free.  Not only from the guilt I had been holding onto, but also from disappointment, shame and regret playing faintly in the background of my life.  I couldn’t believe how easy it was ~ in an instant all those negative feelings were gone.  I was overwhelmed with relief and a sense of stillness I have not felt in quite some time.

Although it was instantly clear, I didn’t realize I was holding onto a person who no longer existed.  Perhaps I just needed to grow into who I am today before I could let her go.  Perhaps I needed to come full circle with all of it, including myself.  Regardless, owning my choice gave me the power to let go of the guilt.  There was nothing left to fight.

Taking ownership of anything gives us control over it, which in turn gives us personal power.  When we hold onto negative feelings such as guilt, shame, disappointment or regret, we give them power because to some degree they control us.  They control how we feel and how we live our lives.  They can also leave us feeling powerless because we cannot go back and change what caused these feelings.

Now, looking back, it was as though I was  “renting” those negative feelings because I continued to pay for them on one level or another.  I do believe, now that I can see the bigger picture, that NOT taking ownership of our choices and mistakes leaves us in limbo.  If you do not fully embrace and own the things you have said and done, how will you ever be able to let them go and move forward.   You will remain stuck in who you were instead of stepping into who you are becoming.

I Am Battle Worn

I have, over the last few weeks, gone back through my memory bank and taken ownership of all the things I’ve tried to bury.  And do you know what I have been left with?  I have been left with an undeniable feeling of peace and pureness.  This new “ownership process” has completely cleansed my mind, my heart, my spirit and my body.   I am more in tune with my Inner Life and I am living a more joyous life.  I have a lot to be proud of but I couldn’t see those things as much as I could see what I did “wrong”.  I have lived an amazing life even with all the chaos, challenges and struggles, but I am still smiling and shining brighter than I ever have!

Take some time my friends and think about your life.  Are you truly happy?  Are you living a joyous existence?  Are you happy with yourself inside and out?  Are you free and clear of the past or do you carry a bag full of regrets, mistakes, shame, guilt, disappointment?  Do you want to be free and feel proud of who you are and where you are?  Who cares how you came to be where you are ~ you are here now and you have the power to do, be and have everything you want!  So I say to you, OWN IT!  Make it yours!  Love yourself for it and let it go!  Be free my friends, be free!

Every Choice You Make Has An Outcome

17Every choice we make ends up somewhere.  It doesn’t matter what it is, there is always an outcome.  You may or may not see it or feel it, but it is there.  Even the littlest of choices such as the type of toilet paper you buy will have an outcome.  You will end up with a happy tush or an unhappy tush depending on the type of toilet paper you chose to buy.  If you choose to turn left instead of right this could cause you the opportunity to see the sunset and what a beautiful outcome that would be!  The choice I made today to paint my fingernails has a positive outcome because it makes me feel good.  The choice to drink more water will have the outcome of more trips to the bathroom along with helping to flush out toxins.

Taking Complete Responsibility for Your Life Changes Your Life

38Some choices we make, and will make, change our lives completely.  The choice to drink and drive could land you in prison because you crossed the yellow line and killed an entire family.  The choice to use drugs could cause you to lose everything including yourself.  The choice to text and drive could cause you to miss the stop light and drive head on into a tree, losing your life.  The choice to eat junk food could cause high cholesterol and eventually cause a heart attack.  The choice to go swimming in an unsafe body of water could cause you to drown.  The choice to lie to and cheat on your partner could cause the end of your relationship.

652The choices we make are just as important and vital to our well-being as the thoughts we think and the food we put in our bodies.  There is certainly nothing wrong with taking a little extra time to think through your choices.  Think about every possible outcome, good or bad, and then choose wisely.  We all think from time to time that “it won’t happen to me” but it does happen.  It happens all the time to people of all walks of life.

Today I choose only that which is for my greater good and for that which is in line with and in tune with my Inner Life.  Today I choose to make choices that will enhance my life and bring me more joy, abundance, peace, love and true happiness!

Do You Have Inner Freedom

820Inner freedom is the illumination of all that we are.  It has an untouchable power and positive energy force that guides us throughout our personal journey.  It keeps us in tune with the greater part of who we truly are, with our Inner Life.

Inner freedom is being totally free from negativity, pain and unhappiness. You do not have inner freedom when you are twisted in knots or bound by your outer life afflictions, or if you are filled with any level of discomfort.

If you want inner freedom you have to let go of all the turbulence in your life.  It doesn’t matter if it’s in the past or in the present, you have to let it go or nothing will change.  If you open your heart and listen you will know what or who is keeping you from your inner freedom. If you want true and lasting peace, joy and happiness you must release yourself from all this inner turbulence and unrest.  Allow yourself to move through it, not build on it.

Are Your Beliefs Creating Heartache and Unhappiness

beautiful landscape photographyOnce you reach the state of inner freedom, life will never be the same, and you will never go back.  Your energy and the light inside of you will take you places you never thought possible.  Where there is lack, there is now abundance.  Where there is pain, there is now peace.  Where there is sadness, there is now happiness. Where there is darkness, there is now light.  Where there is hate, there is now LOVE.

NOW is the time to let go.  Imagine for a moment how it will feel to be rid of all that locks you in a negative state of being ~ just imagine ~ you will finally be FREE.

If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within.  Live, breathe and be your Inner Life.  Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be ….
