Own it!

Someone recently said to me, very sternly I may add, as I was expressing feelings of guilt over a choice I made 9 years ago, “JUST OWN IT!”. She told me to own the fact that I not only did what was best for me, but I did what I had to do in order to save myself ~ end of story.  And just like that the guilt was gone.

I don’t know why it took so many years, but the moment I heard those words something inside of me changed.  I became free.  Not only from the guilt I had been holding onto, but also from disappointment, shame and regret playing faintly in the background of my life.  I couldn’t believe how easy it was ~ in an instant all those negative feelings were gone.  I was overwhelmed with relief and a sense of stillness I have not felt in quite some time.

Although it was instantly clear, I didn’t realize I was holding onto a person who no longer existed.  Perhaps I just needed to grow into who I am today before I could let her go.  Perhaps I needed to come full circle with all of it, including myself.  Regardless, owning my choice gave me the power to let go of the guilt.  There was nothing left to fight.

Taking ownership of anything gives us control over it, which in turn gives us personal power.  When we hold onto negative feelings such as guilt, shame, disappointment or regret, we give them power because to some degree they control us.  They control how we feel and how we live our lives.  They can also leave us feeling powerless because we cannot go back and change what caused these feelings.

Now, looking back, it was as though I was  “renting” those negative feelings because I continued to pay for them on one level or another.  I do believe, now that I can see the bigger picture, that NOT taking ownership of our choices and mistakes leaves us in limbo.  If you do not fully embrace and own the things you have said and done, how will you ever be able to let them go and move forward.   You will remain stuck in who you were instead of stepping into who you are becoming.

I Am Battle Worn

I have, over the last few weeks, gone back through my memory bank and taken ownership of all the things I’ve tried to bury.  And do you know what I have been left with?  I have been left with an undeniable feeling of peace and pureness.  This new “ownership process” has completely cleansed my mind, my heart, my spirit and my body.   I am more in tune with my Inner Life and I am living a more joyous life.  I have a lot to be proud of but I couldn’t see those things as much as I could see what I did “wrong”.  I have lived an amazing life even with all the chaos, challenges and struggles, but I am still smiling and shining brighter than I ever have!

Take some time my friends and think about your life.  Are you truly happy?  Are you living a joyous existence?  Are you happy with yourself inside and out?  Are you free and clear of the past or do you carry a bag full of regrets, mistakes, shame, guilt, disappointment?  Do you want to be free and feel proud of who you are and where you are?  Who cares how you came to be where you are ~ you are here now and you have the power to do, be and have everything you want!  So I say to you, OWN IT!  Make it yours!  Love yourself for it and let it go!  Be free my friends, be free!

Sometimes We Fall

135Sometimes we fall. Sometimes we fall, get up, and fall again. Sometimes we don’t know why, we just know we fell and all that matters is getting back up. In the silence of our minds and the beating of our hearts, we know what we need to do to get back up. Facing ourselves and our truth can be difficult but it can also be powerful beyond measure. Our truth always lies within ~ anything that causes us to fall will always be found in our outer life.

Letting go of your outer life is an essential step toward getting back up because it leaves but one thing ~ it leaves the power within, the all-knowing, the greatest part of who we are. It leaves your Inner Life. Letting go of your outer life means letting go of anything or anyone that causes stress, anxiety, sadness, pain, heartache, dis-ease, imbalance, depression, addictions, anger, hatred, lack or unhappiness. None of these things you will find in your Inner Life.

37Letting go does not necessarily mean getting rid of (unless of course you know you need to). It means turning your focus from your outer life to your Inner Life. It means letting go of all resistance to what is and holding on to the here and now. When you focus yourself into the present moment, allowing yourself to feel and live the fullness of who you truly are, the things causing you to “fall” do not exist because they are not a part of your present moment experience. They are not a part of your Inner Life. Any and all things that cause an imbalance within yourself comes from the past or the future. It is never from the here and now.

41Your Inner Life is the non-physical part of who you are ~ pure, positive, ever-expanding vibrational energy. It is the core and the connection to all that is, all that ever was, and all that will ever be. Your Inner Life is where you will find the purest and truest “form” of love, inner-peace, balance, abundance, well-being, joy and happiness. It is the part of you that will keep you in balance so that you don’t fall again.

So when you start to feel as if you are going to fall again, let go of your outer life, focus inward, and allow your Inner Life take you to where you want to be.

If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within. Live, breathe and be your Inner Life. Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be ….

What Has Waiting Done For You

353How much of your life have you spent waiting? I am not talking about outer life waiting such as waiting to graduate, waiting to buy a house, waiting in a line, or in traffic.  I am talking about waiting to fully embrace your Inner Life which will bring you peace, well-being, abundance and true happiness.

Your Inner Life is the core of who you really are, the non-physical part of your true being.  It is the center of all that is and all that will ever be. It is the pure and true “one with” connection to Source.

Your Inner Life is always alive, happy and joyful because it is in and of the present moment.  It knows nothing different.  It never needs to wait to feel good because feeling good is its natural state of being. Which means, feeling good is your natural state of being.

354When you project yourself into the future or anywhere other than where you are Now, it creates inner conflict. This conflict causes you to be out of tune with your Inner Life.  This is the same as being out of balance.  This imbalance will deplete you of positive energy because let’s face it, if you are not happy Now, you are going to emanate negative energy. This negative energy will in fact impact every area of your life ~ body, mind & spirit.

Waiting for anything takes the joy out of where and who you are now. In turn, it takes the joy out of life.  When you are focused on trying to find something or someone to make you feel good, you completely lose sight of the present moment.

351Waiting is no different from saying I am not happy Now, I want something better.  Why do we wait for something specific before we allow ourselves to be happy?  If you are happy Now, everything you want will come into play and before you know it all good things will be manifesting for you.  You are the creator of your own reality. The better you feel, the happier you will be.  The happier you are, the easier it is to create the life you want because you are then in tune with your Inner Life.

If the present moment is not good enough Now, how do you expect the future to be any better when you carry forward the feelings of “not good enough”?  The present moment is where all of Life is.  It is where your dreams and desires are created and born.  Waiting is where life will crumble and die.

346If abundance and true happiness is what you desire, you will only find it in the present moment.  You will not find it by waiting for the next best thing to come along.  Waiting will only attract more waiting.

Life is Now.  You are Now.  Be here now and the rest will fall into place.  There is no need to wait for anything or anyone.  Everything you need is inside you.  It is a part of who you are. Your natural state of being is love and happiness so there is nothing to seek out.  All you have to do is get back in tune with who you really are; with your Inner Life.

348Acceptance of, and appreciation for, where you are, who you are, and what you have will put you back in tune.  This in itself will eliminate the need to wait because you will begin to feel and have peace, well-being, abundance and true happiness.  So I ask you this one question ~ what has waiting done for you?
