Their Path Is Not Wrong, It’s Just Theirs

08It hurts to see someone we love struggle with life especially when we know what it feels like.  One of the greatest things I have learned throughout my journey is that everyone is on their own unique path.  No matter where they are or what they are doing, their path is not wrong, it’s just theirs.  It’s theirs to do whatever they want to do with it – good or bad.

When we see someone struggling, we sometimes have the tendency to step off our path and onto theirs.  In our effort to help, we put ourselves to the side, but in the end, it doesn’t help them and it doesn’t help us.  It doesn’t help them because eventually their path is not going to work for us so they will be left feeling abandoned and alone when we make the choice to go back to our own path.  It doesn’t help us because when we take the path of another we lose ourselves in the other person’s struggles which leads to becoming out of tune with our Inner Life.

96What I have discovered is that we can help others without stepping off our own path.  We can help by being an example of a positive life ~ a happy life.  We can encourage and support those around us without compromising our own happiness.  We share our own struggles of the past, giving them hope that they too can change their life. We lend guidance to show them that there is in fact a “better” way ~ a more fulfilling, abundant and joyful way of dealing with and overcoming life’s unwanted experiences.

In trying to help those we love, or anyone for that matter, there is always a chance they will not be ready or willing to try another path.  For whatever reason, this too is okay.  There is no path that is wrong.  If the other person chooses to continue their struggle with no effort in changing things, it doesn’t mean your efforts have failed.  It just means they need to remain where they are even if they don’t know why.

686It can be hard when someone chooses to stay where they are.  It’s hard because you know there is a happier way.  This is when you need to remain strong and you need to remain on your own path.  It is not a time to judge or criticize but to love unconditionally.  Accept them for who they are and where they are.  If their actions and behaviors are causing you pain, it may be time to walk away.  Rest assured, when the time comes, when they are ready to end their suffering, there is no doubt they will do whatever it takes to create a life more in tune with their true desires and dreams.  A life more in tune with their Inner Life, the greater part of who they truly are.

If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within. Live, breathe and be your Inner Life. Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be …

Sometimes We Fall

135Sometimes we fall. Sometimes we fall, get up, and fall again. Sometimes we don’t know why, we just know we fell and all that matters is getting back up. In the silence of our minds and the beating of our hearts, we know what we need to do to get back up. Facing ourselves and our truth can be difficult but it can also be powerful beyond measure. Our truth always lies within ~ anything that causes us to fall will always be found in our outer life.

Letting go of your outer life is an essential step toward getting back up because it leaves but one thing ~ it leaves the power within, the all-knowing, the greatest part of who we are. It leaves your Inner Life. Letting go of your outer life means letting go of anything or anyone that causes stress, anxiety, sadness, pain, heartache, dis-ease, imbalance, depression, addictions, anger, hatred, lack or unhappiness. None of these things you will find in your Inner Life.

37Letting go does not necessarily mean getting rid of (unless of course you know you need to). It means turning your focus from your outer life to your Inner Life. It means letting go of all resistance to what is and holding on to the here and now. When you focus yourself into the present moment, allowing yourself to feel and live the fullness of who you truly are, the things causing you to “fall” do not exist because they are not a part of your present moment experience. They are not a part of your Inner Life. Any and all things that cause an imbalance within yourself comes from the past or the future. It is never from the here and now.

41Your Inner Life is the non-physical part of who you are ~ pure, positive, ever-expanding vibrational energy. It is the core and the connection to all that is, all that ever was, and all that will ever be. Your Inner Life is where you will find the purest and truest “form” of love, inner-peace, balance, abundance, well-being, joy and happiness. It is the part of you that will keep you in balance so that you don’t fall again.

So when you start to feel as if you are going to fall again, let go of your outer life, focus inward, and allow your Inner Life take you to where you want to be.

If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within. Live, breathe and be your Inner Life. Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be ….

Are Your Thoughts Stealing Your Happiness?

“You’d  never invite a thief into your house, so why would you allow thoughts, that steal your joy, to make themselves at home in your mind?” – Unknown

When I read this quote I had one of those moments when the light turned on and I could see more clearly ….. it really makes you think.  Why do we allow thoughts that steal our joy, happiness and well-being?  If you were told by a doctor that negative thinking is a life threatening disease, would you keep thinking negative thoughts?  No, of course you wouldn’t, but we do.  And what if you were told the cure for this life threatening disease was positive thinking, would you take your dosage as prescribed?  Of course you would, we all would.  So WHY do we insist on robbing ourselves of who we really are and of our own precious life by focusing on the negative?  Life is supposed to be joyful, happy and abundant!

36

Honestly speaking, I do believe negative thinking is a life threatening disease.  It is a disease that slowly and painfully drains the life right out of you.  It takes you to dark places, creates depression, dis-ease and pain, and can very easily turn into destructive behavior patterns.  Once the negativity takes control, we lose control.  Often times we reach for a quick fix to make us feel better, but unfortunately those things are typically pills, street drugs, alcohol or junk food.  We try to rid ourselves of the emotional pain we are experiencing not realizing at the time these solutions are only temporary and will only lead to more problems, pain and negativity.

37

Why not reach for something natural ~ why not reach for a positive thought, a positive feeling, a good memory, a walk in the park, sitting in the sun, playing in the sand, spending time with loved ones, playing with your pet, watching a funny movie, listening to the kind of music that makes you want to dance, having a picnic, sharing a laugh with a friend ~ There are hundreds of positive things to reach for!  Instead of allowing your thoughts to steal your happiness, choose to replace them with the good in you and around you.  Choose to get back in tune with your Inner Life, where there is no negativity.  Choose to be happy not just because you know you should, but because you know you deserve it!
