Inner Life Meditation is the practice of freeing your mind of all thought. When practiced on a regular basis you will be relieved of stress, anxiety, dis-ease, and all other negative emotion. Freeing your mind of its clutter and trash will leave you with a sense of well-being and peace that you never felt before. Life will be easier and things will fall perfectly into place. Your thoughts and attitude will change bringing more joy, love, happiness, abundance and meaning into your life.
1. The Basics
Select some calming music or a guided meditation CD to listen to. Turn off all devices that may cause a distraction (i.e. phones, TV’s, radios). Wear comfortable clothing.
Select a quiet location in or outside your home where you can sit comfortably without being disturbed.
Take a seat on a firm chair, one that will allow you to keep your back straight without slouching, your head in alignment and your feet flat on the floor. Place your hands comfortably in your lap or on your legs.
4. Breathing & Relaxation
Breathing and relaxation are very important to your practice. As you begin your meditation try to relax your body and clear your mind with every breath you take, freeing your mind of all thought.
Breathe in for 3 slow counts and breathe out for 5 slow counts, breathing as deep as you can. You may breathe in and out of your nose or mouth or both. Eventually, in time, your body will fall into its own natural rhythm.
5. Meditation Time
Practice your meditation on a daily basis for 5 – 15 minutes. Morning meditation is a great way to start your day and evening meditation is a great way to unwind. If you prefer, practice 5 – 15 minutes in the morning and 5 – 15 minutes in the evening.
If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within. Live, breathe and be your Inner Life. Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be. – Cindy Ortiz
