The Next Chapter, Turn the Page

727It’s hard to imagine the next chapter in your life when you have been captured by what you believe to be your only reality. Things are not going the way you want them to, you don’t have the things you want, you are struggling financially, you feel as though life has turned you inside out, and now you can’t see past the next day, let alone the next minute. You are sad, depressed, unhappy, stressed, frustrated and angry. You try to feel better but you can barely make it to the front door. Your thoughts are consumed with negativity and hopelessness. The light you once followed has burned out with no other light in sight.

How often do you think, “I don’t want to be where I am”? How does it feel when you are not where you want to be or have what you want to have? Do you believe things can change? Do you believe you are the one who has the power to make everything change?

Without realizing it, we can so easily make things worse by fighting against our current life circumstances. We keep our focus in and on our outer life instead of turning inward to our Inner Life, the greater and more powerful part of who we truly are. Turning inward may not change your circumstances overnight but it will bring you peace. That is what you need right now is peace. Making peace with your life as it is doesn’t mean throwing in the towel or staying where you are ~ it means embracing and surrendering to what is so you can naturally move forward toward well-being, abundance, love, joy, and true happiness.

02Think of it this way, when things aren’t going the way you want them to, you push against them, you push against life. It’s like a constant battle in your head, a complete never-ending negative dialogue of how much you hate where you are, screaming for a way out. Is it not? Isn’t it a horrible feeling? Eventually that dialogue will make its way down through your body creating all sorts aches, pains, dis-ease, and illness. Is that really what you want and how you want to live your life?

I have been where you are. I have lived through my outer life only to find myself drenched in unhappiness, depression, anxiety, destructive behavior patterns and no hope of anything changing. Looking back, it’s hard to believe I lived this way for so many years, but I didn’t know I was the one in control. I didn’t know I was the one making life so unsatisfying and miserable. I thought and assumed it was life itself giving me all these thing. I hated it ~ I hated the way I felt. The sadness, pain, guilt, and shame. I just wanted out. Out of my mind, out of my body, and out of my life. All I wanted was to be happy but I did not know how. I had no clue where to start or what to do, so I started right where I was. I started in the exact place I didn’t want to be. My DESIRE to be truly happy is all it took to take the first step out of the life I wanted to leave behind and into the life I was about to create!

01Yes, it probably sounds easier said than done, but then again, maybe not. If the desire is there, anything is possible. For me, the majority of the changes I made were pretty simple, but they did take courage, faith, surrender, trust, acceptance, self-love, and devotion. This may sound like a large order to fill, but it’s not when you have desire. Please trust me when I say to you, where you are, how you are living, how you are feeling is NOT your only reality. It is just the reality you are choosing right now.  NOW is the time for the next chapter, so turn the page. Take a deep breath, know all is well, and don’t give up.

Do Your Words Enhance Your Joy & Happiness

24Have you ever thought about how your words affect your health, happiness and overall well-being?  Think about it for a moment ~ how you express yourself is no different than the food you put into your body.  It will either make you feel better or it will make you feel worse.  Words could very easily be just words, but rarely they are.  They are always tied to a positive or negative feeling.  It is those feelings that will, in the end, contribute to the creation of your own reality, all inclusively. 

A good example would be when you are driving.  How often do you find yourself using choice words toward another driver for one reason or another?  How does this make YOU feel?  When you express your anger or frustration toward another driver, even when they can’t hear you, it not only fills YOU up with negative energy, but it sends negative energy out into the Universe.  So what does the Universe do?  It gives you what you send out ~ like attracts like….and you wonder why you keep having bad experiences on the roadway!  Choice words are not spoken from your Inner Life, they are spoken from a place within your outer life.  A place that does not know peace or well-being at that moment in time.  

23When I made the choice to be happy no matter what, I also had to learn how to relax a lot more and to go with the flow.  This means allowing the uncontrollable to just do its thing.  To not get upset at the things someone else does that could easily cause me to feel irritated, frustrated or angry.  Allowing negative feelings in this manner is no different than giving power to the other person.  Why would I want to allow someone else’s actions to affect how I feel?  And in that, the uncontrollable now becomes controllable!  It can be difficult to “practice” peace in certain situations, but it is not impossible.  It all depends on what you want out of life and how you want to feel.

Think about how much your life would change if the ONLY words you ever spoke were words that enhanced your joy and happiness.  Not only would you feel better, but your health would improve, you would be more prosperous and abundant, and you would know peace, joy and true happiness.  So, the next time you find yourself wanting to use choice words, just remember what those words will do to you as they course through every part of your body, mind and spirit.  Choose joy and happiness, you can’t go wrong!

Be the Change that YOU Desire!

52If you have a desire for change, you can start right from where you are. There is no need to go backwards to get to where you want to be. If you know what you want half the battle is over. The past is the past and it no longer exists, so don’t let it exist within you. Whatever it is you want to change or do different, just do it. Do not sit around beating yourself up over what you have done wrong or what you could have done differently. This will only keep you from moving forward.

Every moment you have is an opportunity to be who YOU want to be and do what YOU want to do. Be the change that YOU desire. You do not need anyone else’s permission. If someone in your life tries to discourage you, it is only because of their own insecurities and fears. Stay focused and present in every moment, for it is every moment that will create the next moment.

41For some, change is as simple as making the decision to change. For others, it is more difficult. If you find change difficult, it is simply because you are living more in your outer life than you are living through your Inner Life. Your outer life creates fear, resistance and negativity. Whereas, your Inner Life creates peace, joy and an unshakeable knowing that all is well.

Where you are is okay and there is nothing “wrong”. You are where you are because of your choices, thought patterns and beliefs. It is okay to accept where you are. This doesn’t mean staying idle, it means coming to terms with who and where you are and then taking the steps to get you to where you want to be.

39If you want to change yourself, your life and/or your patterns of thought, choose to do the opposite of that which you are doing now. If you think negative thoughts, choose to think positive thoughts. If you are an unkind person, choose to be kinder. If you are an alcoholic, choose not to drink and go to a meeting. If you are unhappy, choose to be happy and do something that feels good. If your life is boring, choose different activities to spice it up a little.

If you find yourself slipping back into your old patterns, and you will at first, just remember where and who you are – you are this moment and this moment only. Stop, take a breath, know that you have a choice, and be who you NOW want to be. The desire for change is just the beginning – you can do it, so just do it!
