It Is Time to Positively Beat Yourself Up

How often do you “beat yourself up” over something great you did, said or achieved?  How much time do you spend praising, loving or admiring yourself for all the positive aspects of who you are and your life?  Probably not as much as you do for the negative.  I know I never spent nearly as much time on the positive as I did the negative until I finally got the point where not feeling good and not being happy was no longer an option for me. 


A challenge for a lot of us is letting go of our mistakes or the feeling that we are a “bad” person.  Not only do we swim in the guilt of our mistakes, but we also judge and criticize ourselves.  We carry these negative feelings around with us as if we have no choice in the matter.  Punishing yourself this way takes away time ~ valuable time that you will never be able to get back.


There is a large majority of people in the world today who struggle with life and have an ongoing battle inside themselves because they believe they are a “bad” person for one mistake or another.  It is this belief that can easily turn into a destructive negative self-image, not to mention a destructive life style.  If you don’t change your beliefs about yourself you will eventually end up chronically out of tune with your Inner Life.  This in itself will make life feel like an uphill battle.


No matter what your mistakes WERE, it is time to let them go and start focusing on now, not then.  There is nothing you can do to change what has already happened, but you can change what is going to happen now.  You can change who you are, where you are, and what you want to do.  Take the time to think about the good, not the bad, and let that be your focus point.  It is time to positively “beat yourself up”, leaving the mistakes and negativity behind you. You are in control of how you feel and what you believe, so what’s it going to be?

If true and lasting happiness is what you seek, seek first from within.  Live, breathe and be your Inner Life.  Quiet your mind, focus solely on the present moment and allow the power of your Inner Life guide you to where you want to be ….
